Company Profile

IorOrganic produces handmade soaps and cosmetic coconut oils using organic products in Panguna, of the Autonmous Region of Bougainville. Our soaps come in variaties of Pure Coconut Oil, Citronella, Lemon Grass and Turmeric. Our products are coconut oil based, and infusions are all organic herbs taken grown abundantly in the environment. Panguna hosts the former gold and copper mine operated by Rio Tinto's subsidiary Bougainville Copper Limited. The products carry a legacy of an impacted environment and people, where the impacts of the mine continue to affect thousands of people on a daily basis, despite being closed for more than 35 years. IorOrganic is a product that comes from brave women who are undergoing a process of healing through self-reliance initiatives.

Pure Coconut Oil Soap

Pure coconut oil soap is a perfect cleanser, with a 25% superfat this soap leaves back moisture after cleaning your skin. Coconut is a product that remained useful in the most troubled times of the Bougainville war until now, it is a commodity for revenue making. Coconut Oil Soap represents the hard work women put in to developing and diversifying the cottage industry in Ioro.

Citronella Infused Coconut Oil Soap

This soap is infused locally cultivated citronella, with Coconut Oil as the based ingredient. The soap is also at 25% superfat to counter coconut oil's cleansing effect. Citronella leaves are a locally used herb in the diet of the Nasioi people.

Lemon Grass Infused Coconut Oil Soap

Lemon grass is commonly used as a remedy against cold & flu, and coughs. It adds a natural lemon scent to the soap. This herb can be found growing outside many homes in Panguna and other parts of Bougainville. It is a widely recognised and utilised plant for its scent and healing properties.
